History Trail in the Regional Park

There was no stopping 5th class before finishing up for midterm. On the last day before our midterm break, Ms. Cooney’s 5th class went on a history, science and geography trail in the Regional Park. We looked at elements from the old gunpowder mills, such as the old Watch Tower at the Western Entrance. We looked at the different trees and wildlife that can be seen in the park. We even got to see ducks and a heron! We saw the River Lee and now know that the source of the river is in Gougane Barra in the Shehy Mountains. Thanks to Mr. Kelleher for accompanying us and taking our photo!
