Junior Infants, Ms Lehane: ‘Queen Caroline and the Dragon.’
Posted in Junior Infants Blog by teacher | Comments are offIn drama, we pretended to live in the Kingdom of Queen Caroline. She wore a tiara and she was very spoilt. She didn’t want to tidy her bedroom and she threw out her magic clock. We had to get the clock back because it changes one season to the next and we want Spring to arrive. The clock, it transpired, had fallen into the hands of the nasty Dragon, who lived way across the Kingdom. We decided what to bring on our journey to the Dragon and we set off across mountains, rivers and fire while chanting ‘WE ARE BRAVE, WE ARE CLEVER, PROBLEMS DON’T DEFEAT US EVER.’ We confronted the Dragon who had a long tail, spines on his back and wore glasses. Despite the fact that he breathed fire he turned out to be a very kind Dragon. We decorated his den and, in return, he gave us back the magic clock. We convinced Queen Caroline to be nice to the Dragon and when she turned the magic clock to thirteen (for it is magic after all!) Spring came to the Kingdom. We placed pictures of woolly lambs and sheep eating in green fields all over the Kingdom. Take a look at the photos below to see the magic WE created.
