Ms Lehane’s Junior Infants at play and Drama

Ms Burke’s 1st class love ‘The Twits’!

Ms Burke’s class has been reading, ‘The Twits’, by Roald Dahl. We also read two other books by the same author but we really enjoyed, ‘The Twits’!

In class we talked about Mr. and Mrs. Twit and the kind of characters they are. We made up an imaginary dog for the Twits. It was just as dreadful as its’ owners! We created pictures of Mr. Twit’s terrible beard using rubbish from our lunch boxes!

Then we talked about the Twits at home and thought about these ideas; our favourite characters, why we like the book and the funniest parts of the book. Here’s what we discovered!

The most popular character is Mr. Twit followed by Mrs. Twit, the Monkeys and Roly-Poly bird. We thought the book was, ‘exciting’, ‘really funny’ and had ‘great characters who play tricks’. We also, ‘like Roald Dahl’.

Finally the funniest part of the book was when the Twits were stuck upside down until they got the shrinks! We also liked the wormy spaghetti, the monkey tricks, when Mrs. Twit got stretched and when the boys got stuck to the tree. You will have to read the book yourself to see what happens to those boys. We hope you have as much fun reading the book as we did!
